Fleet
It operates a fleet of Airbus, Boeing, ATR and Fokker aircraft totalling 85, with an average age of 5.1 years. The airline is expected to reach 101 and 150 modern aircraft in 2015 and 2020.
Travel Classes
The airline operates three travel classes - Business, Deluxe Economy and Economy. The business class cabins offer all the luxurious amenities. On long-haul international flights served by Boeing 777-200ERs, seats in all cabin classes are equipped with audio video on demand (AVOD) in-flight entertainment via personal televisions. SATCOM, the airline’s satellite communication system allows the passengers to make phone calls onboard via in-seat telephone service. Baggage
On board, each passenger is entitled to a free baggage allowance - two pieces for Business Class passengers and one piece for Economy class passengers. The maximum weight allowed is 7kgs and the sum of three dimensions should not exceed 115 cm (56 cm x 36 cm x 23 cm) or (22 x 14 x 9 inches).
Alliance
Vietnam Airlines became a member of SkyTeam in 2010, making it the sole Southeast Asian carrier to join that alliance.
