1. Songdo Central Park (in Incheon)

This is a waterfront park right in the middle of the Songdo Business District. Covering 101 acres, this giant park is inspired by New York City’s Central Park. Grab the kids and hop onto a water taxi! The man-made seawater canal that stretches across the entire park refreshes itself every 24 hours. There’re also canoes, paddle boats and bicycles available for rental, as well as small cafes and art sculptures dotted along the way, making it a hotspot for families to spend a day and have picnics!

2. Seoul Children’s Grand Park (in Gyeonggi-do)

Opened on Children’s Day in 1973, Children’s Grand Park in Seoul is a children’s wonderland with a zoo, botanical garden, and a rainbow fountain which are absolutely free-of-charge! And if that isn’t enough for your kids, bring them for amusement rides, an animal show and even the children’s museum. These have entrance fees though. Also, if you’re here in the Spring time, even better! Catch the cherry blossoms in full bloom along the park roads.

3. Pororo Park in Lotte World (in Seoul)

Our children’s favourite penguin and his friends come to life in this indoor park packed with fun rides just for little ones. It’s a giant toddler-friendly playground complete with a small carousel, a bouncy castle, bumper cars, a Pororo train, a Pororo show theater, a Moon-sand pit, a ferris wheel and even a kid’s cafe! If you go on a weekday, you’d get to see kindergarten kids in their adorable little uniforms lining up for the rides. When in Lotte World, just look for the ice-rink to get to it.

4. Diki Diki Design Playground (in Seoul)

Located on the fourth floor of Dongdaemun Design Plaza (DDP), the Diki Diki Design Playground is a giant sensory experience for children under the age of 10. The place is split up into two main areas—the Sensible Playground and the Design Creation Experience. The Sensible playground consists of activities that engage the five senses exploring different shapes, colours and textures. The Design Creation Experience allows children to participate in a design making process using a curriculum with professionals from various fields including architect, fashion and urban design.

5. COEX Aquarium (in Seoul)

Coex Aquarium is a large-scale aquarium with a total of 40,000 sea creatures in 183 display tanks. Located inside the Coex Mall in Gangnam, this large area is divided into four themed areas with fourteen discovery zones where children and parents can learn about the 650 different species of sea creatures that are on display there. Coupled with the 20 rest areas, it’s truly an unexpected oasis in the heart of the city.

6. Incheon Airport Terminal 2 Kids Zone (in Incheon)

You’re waiting to board the airplane and you need to keep your children entertained? No problem! Bring them to Incheon Airport Terminal 2’s Kids Zone—a large play area for children under the age of eight. There’s also a IT experience zone next to it, where older kids can immerse themselves in virtual reality games and some other high-tech experiences.

7. Everland Amusement Theme Park (in Gyeonggi-do)

To a child, there’s nothing quite like going to a traditional amusement park for a day. It’s no wonder that Everland Resort is packed full of visitors all year round. It celebrates different festivals throughout the year—including Tulip Festival, Rose Festival, Summer Splash, Halloween Festival, Romantic Illumination—so you can be sure that every time you visit Everland, it has a different atmosphere to it. Also check out Zootopia, spanning over an area of 15,000 square-metres with almost 2,000 animals including a pair of giant pandas that can be seen at Panda World.

8. Gyeongbokgung Grand Palace (in Seoul)

Gyeongbokgung is the largest of the four palaces in Seoul, so there’s plenty of space for the children to run around and have a blast! Built in 1395, this palace was destroyed in the Imjin War and later during the Japanese Occupation. Restoration works still happen till this day, but most of its former glory has been brought back. Rent an audio guide or sign up for a guided tour to make it an interesting and educational experience for your children while exploring the historical buildings and beautiful gardens!
