The Perfect Sydney 6D5N Family Getaway

Day 1 >> The Grounds of Alexandria - Circular Quay - Taronga Zoo OR Luna Park Sydney - Sydney Royal Easter Show
Start your day with a hearty brunch at The Grounds of Alexandria, a Sydney icon when it comes to cafes. Sitting near the airport, the café features a seasonally inspired menu that’s bursting with fresh flavours, freshly roasted coffee, and irresistible bread and pastries. Whilst waiting for the food to arrive, head to the garden where you can meet the friendly farm animals with the family, especially the resident pig Harry Trotter.
Once everyone’s bellies are filled, take a ferry over via Circular Quay and visit Taronga Zoo. Purchasing your entrance tickets would save you some money so purchase them beforehand if you can! Taronga Zoo is a great destination to see native wildlife and rare exotic animals. For the adventure seekers, the wild Ropes adventure with its zip-lines and suspension bridges are a must do! You’ll be able to swing, step and climb right above the Zoo itself, having the special chance to look down and say hi to our cheeky koalas, emus and kangaroos at the Australian Walkabout along the way.
Alternatively, check out Luna Park Sydney, the amusement park overlooking the Sydney Harbour Bridge that's just a 5 minute walk from Milsons Point Station. Entry into Luna Park Sydney is free! So, if you are a thrill-seeker and keen to go on the rides, there is a range of tickets available to purchase depending on how tall you are and how much fun you want to have… or if you simply just want to roam around and snap pictures.
Catching the Sydney Royal Easter show would be a nice way to end your day as a family. Scheduled to take place from 3 - 14 April in 2020, it is Australia’s largest annual ticketed event featuring animals, flowers, food, music and exhibition displays. Conclude the night by staying till closing (~9pm) to catch the fireworks.
Day 2 >> Bondi Beach
Catch the Sydney sun at Bondi Beach. Learn to surf and have a picnic by the beach. Known as the most popular beach, the golden sands and crystal waters at Bondi are captivating and a must visit. Surf lessons in Bondi are renowned to give you an ultimate Bondi experience, no matter your degree of familiarity with water.
Once you're done riding the waves, hop on a cruise and experience whale watching! Migration season starts in May for these behemoths, and whale watching experiences aboard the cruises last 2 to 3 hours. The cruise is family friendly and experienced crew will provide informative commentary whilst onboard.
Fancy something even more exciting? Get your adrenaline pumping on a jet boat instead! OZ Jetboating is the largest, most established and popular jet boating company in Australia. Located at Circular Quay, jet boating around with the stunning view of the Sydney Harbour Bridge and Sydney Opera House would be such a memorable wet and wild experience. To end the night, stargaze at the Sydney Observatory or pop by VIVID Sydney, a unique spectacle in the heart of the city lighting up the summer nights from 22 May to 30 June 2020. Expect a beautiful photo opportunity if you want to capture a family picture!
Day 3 >> Grand Pacific Drive - Symbio Wildlife Park
Escape the hustle and bustle of the city and drive along the Grand Pacific Drive. This 140km scenic coastal drive can be a relaxing way to see more of Sydney. Along the scenic drive, head to Glenbernie Orchard, a 60 hectare farm south of Sydney. Discover stories behind growing fruit and experience the fun of picking your own fruit. If you are not able to experience the fruit picking season (November till April), just visit to enjoy some freshly harvested produce.
If you cannot get enough of Australia’s wildlife, head to the Symbio Wildlife Park, Wollongong's very own award winning, family owned zoo. To top that off, the zoo has a new splash park, adventure playground and an abundance of picnic areas. Symbio will truly provide the ultimate day of family fun!
Day 4 >> Mowbray Park
Enjoy the local farm life by opting for a farm stay at Mowbray Park. This is especially interesting for your little ones who probably only experience what city living is so a farm stay would be a good chance for them to experience living on a farm, somewhere away from towering skyscrapers and fast wi-fi.
