There are many incredible art museums from the Art Gallery of Ontario with its huge selection of Canadian artwork to the Royal Ontario Museum which boasts a first rate Chinese collection. Then there are the more specialised museums. These include the Bata Shoe Museum with many displays, including one of celebrity shoes, and the Toronto Dominion Gallery of Inuit Art, with more than 100 sculptures. Once you have had enough of the museums, head over the water to the Toronto Islands where cars are banned and the living is easy. There are great beaches for sunbathing and time to wander aimlessly, away from the hustle and bustle of city life.
The museum itself looks like a well designed shoe box, and for good reason. It houses 10,000 "pedi-artifacts" from all over the world. You can find shoes from a forgotten time or even modern shoes worn by Pablo Picasso, or even Elton John.
